Who it fits
Good fit for
This changer suits existing Bose Wave owners who want to automate their CD collection. If you have a library of three or fewer discs you rotate frequently, this slot-loaded design lets you stack them without manual swapping. The extra input is useful if you want to connect a DVD player or TV to the system while keeping the CD player ready. It is ideal for setups where space is limited, given its small 6-inch cube form factor.
Who should skip it
You should skip this if you do not own a Bose Wave music system, as it is designed specifically to complement that line. It lacks Bluetooth connectivity, so you cannot stream wirelessly from your phone through this unit alone. If you need to play more than three discs at once, the single-changer capacity is a limitation. It also does not include a remote of its own, relying on the main system’s controls, which may be inconvenient from a distance.
Verdict: The Bose Wave Multi-CD Changer is a practical, space-saving addition for existing Wave owners who value physical media. It offers seamless integration and convenient multi-disc playback for small collections.
Key specs explained
Media Playback: CD, MP3 CD
This unit plays standard audio CDs and discs containing MP3 files. You can load digital music libraries onto discs for playback. This format is common in older hi-fi systems. It does not support vinyl records or modern streaming services. If you have a collection of burned MP3 CDs, this device handles them directly. It suits listeners who prefer physical media over internet connections.
Features: Remote control
The package includes a spare remote control for operation. You can manage playback from a distance without touching the unit. This is useful if the system is placed in a cabinet or on a shelf. You do not need to stand close to press buttons. This feature adds convenience for daily use. It ensures you can control the music without moving the main speaker system.
Inputs: Additional audio input
The device has an extra input port for other audio sources. You can connect a TV, DVD player, or another device to it. This allows you to route external audio through the Bose system. It expands the utility of your music center. You can listen to other media without switching devices. This is helpful for integrating multiple electronics into one setup.
Dimensions: 6 inches width, 6 inches height, 6 inches length
The unit measures 6 by 6 by 6 inches. This compact cubic shape fits easily in small spaces. It maintains a small footprint for most areas. You can place it next to your main Wave music system without taking up much room. The size ensures it does not dominate your shelf. It is designed to complement existing audio gear without clutter.
Design and build details
The Bose Wave Multi-CD Changer, Titanium Silver, presents a compact and uniform physical profile. According to the listing, the unit measures six inches in width, six inches in height, and six inches in length. This cubic footprint allows it to sit neatly beside your main Wave music system without consuming excessive shelf space. The design prioritizes a small physical presence, making it suitable for tight arrangements in living rooms or bedrooms. You can place it in most areas where space is limited, as it maintains the same small footprint as the primary unit.
The finish is described as Titanium Silver, offering a neutral aesthetic that complements the accompanying music system. The chassis features an elegant, slot-loaded design for disc insertion. This mechanism suggests a streamlined front face with minimal protruding parts, which reduces dust accumulation and simplifies cleaning. The slot-loading approach also means you do not need to lift a heavy tray to change discs, which can be convenient for daily use.
Controls and connectivity are integrated into this compact form. The unit includes an additional audio input, allowing you to connect external sources like a TV or DVD player. This expands its role beyond a simple CD changer. A spare remote control is included, ensuring you have a backup for operation. The physical layout is straightforward, focusing on essential functions without clutter. This design choice supports ease of use in a home environment where simplicity is valued.
Setup and everyday use
This unit is designed specifically for the Bose Wave music system. You connect it to your existing Wave receiver to expand its playback capabilities. The physical connection utilizes the additional audio input port listed in the specifications. This allows you to link other sources, such as a TV or DVD player, to the same audio chain if needed. The design is slot-loaded, which means you slide discs directly into the mechanism rather than lifting a tray. This method helps maintain the compact six-inch cubic footprint, ensuring it fits easily in most areas without taking up extra shelf space.
For daily operation, you load up to three CDs or MP3 CDs into the changer. The system handles standard audio CDs and discs containing MP3 files. You do not need to manually swap discs for hours of continuous playback. The included remote control lets you manage these functions from a distance. A spare remote is also provided, which is practical if you lose the primary controller. The titanium silver finish is intended to complement the aesthetic of your Wave music system. Because it is a dedicated expansion unit, you do not need to configure complex network settings or install software. You simply plug it in, load your discs, and use the remote to select the source. It is a straightforward addition for users who want to keep multiple CDs ready for immediate play without interrupting their listening session.
Compatibility And Setup Checks
Before you buy this Bose Wave Multi-CD Changer, verify your existing system is a compatible Bose Wave music system. This unit is an expansion component, not a standalone receiver. You will need your primary Wave unit to control playback and output audio. Check that your current setup includes the specific additional audio input port required for connection. Consider your disc library. If you rely heavily on MP3 CDs, this feature adds flexibility. However, if you mostly use standard audio CDs, the multi-disc capacity is your main benefit. The included spare remote is a practical addition for convenience. This device fits into the broader Turntables, Receivers & Hi-Fi ecosystem as a niche accessory. It does not replace a main receiver or a turntable. It simply extends the capabilities of your existing Bose hardware. Ensure your space can accommodate the six-inch cubic footprint alongside your main unit.
