Looking Beyond the Sony PS-LX310BT Belt Drive Turntable:? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How Each Alternative Compares

Audio-Technica Automatic Bluetooth USB Turntable

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT offers the same fully automatic belt-drive operation and dual Bluetooth and USB connectivity as the Sony. It shares the black finish and core convenience features. However, its dimensions differ, measuring 18.8 inches in length and 16.7 inches in height, with a weight of 8.35 pounds. This model is a strong budget option for users who prioritize compact design and modern digital archiving capabilities. It provides a straightforward alternative for those who want wireless streaming without the specific aluminum platter or tonearm design found in the Sony unit. It is ideal for casual listeners seeking a smaller footprint.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Automatic USB Turntable

This Audio-Technica model is a lighter, more compact alternative to the Sony PS-LX310BT. It weighs only 5.73 pounds and measures 14.7 inches in length, making it significantly smaller than the Sony’s 17-inch width. Like the Sony, it features a fully automatic belt-drive system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity for digital archiving. It is designed for users who need a portable or space-saving solution. While it lacks the Sony’s aluminum die-cast platter and straight aluminum pipe tonearm, it delivers clear analog sound suitable for casual listening. It is a practical choice for those who value minimalism and easy operation over specific mechanical build details.

Audio-Technica Automatic Turntable with Speakers

The Audio-Technica bundle includes the AT-LP60XBT turntable paired with bookshelf speakers, offering a complete wireless setup. Unlike the Sony, which requires external speakers or headphones for audio output, this bundle provides immediate playback. It retains the fully automatic belt-drive operation and Bluetooth connectivity. The turntable itself shares the same compact dimensions and weight as the standalone model. This option is best for users who want a ready-to-use system without connecting to a separate stereo receiver. It sacrifices the Sony’s USB ripping capability for the convenience of an all-in-one package. It is ideal for beginners who prefer simplicity and do not need to archive records digitally.

Sony PS-LX5BT Turntable with Powered Speakers

The Sony PS-LX5BT bundle includes powered speakers, creating a complete entry-level vinyl system. It differs from the base PS-LX310BT by providing integrated audio output, removing the need for external amplification. It maintains the fully automatic belt-drive operation and Bluetooth connectivity. The bundle is designed for users seeking an all-in-one solution for casual listening. It offers RCA inputs for additional connectivity options. While it matches the Sony brand’s focus on convenience, it does not include the USB ripping feature found in the PS-LX310BT. It is a suitable choice for those who prioritize wireless streaming and ease of setup over digital archiving and high-fidelity analog outputs.

Audio-Technica Automatic Turntable with Speakers

The Audio-Technica AT-LP3XBT bundle combines a turntable with 50W bookshelf speakers, offering a powerful wireless listening experience. It features fully automatic operation and Bluetooth connectivity with aptX support for improved audio quality. Unlike the Sony PS-LX310BT, it does not list USB connectivity for digital archiving. The included speakers provide immediate playback without external gear. This setup is ideal for users who want high-volume wireless listening without complex connections. It shares the black color and automatic operation with the Sony but focuses on audio performance through its included speakers. It is a practical choice for those who value sound quality and convenience over record digitization features.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Belt-Drive Turntable

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT is a standalone belt-drive turntable with fully automatic operation. It matches the Sony in offering both Bluetooth and USB connectivity for wireless streaming and digital archiving. It shares the black color and automatic workflow. However, it differs in physical dimensions, measuring 18.8 inches in length and 16.7 inches in height, with a weight of 8.07 pounds. This model is a direct competitor for users who want similar connectivity options in a different form factor. It is suitable for those who prioritize digital archiving and wireless listening. It lacks the Sony’s specific aluminum platter and tonearm design but provides a reliable, automatic experience for casual vinyl enthusiasts.
